Seven Sisters is an original Aboriginal painting by Kelly Taylor, created in acrylic on professional quality canvas.

This artwork represents the Seven Sisters Dreaming, an ancient Aboriginal story carried through Kelly’s family and shared by her as custodian of this story. The painting features layered dot work, flowing movement and strong circular forms that represent the Seven Sisters, Country, Elders, community, sacred places and the night sky.

Rich colour and detailed patterning create a strong sense of movement, connection and storytelling. Painted in Kelly’s contemporary Aboriginal style, this artwork celebrates culture, family, Country and the strength of stories passed down through generations.

Kelly Taylor — Artist Portrait

Kelly Taylor

Kelly is an Aboriginal artist with Yankunytjatjara/Pitjantjatjara heritage through her grandmother, Millie Lennon-Terone, and Kokatha heritage through her grandfather, Edgar Dingaman. Her work celebrates culture, storytelling, and a deep connection to Country. Kelly has completed commissioned artworks for organisations including the Royal Flying Doctor Service, SA Power Networks, SA Water, Ingham’s Australia, the ATO, and Northline. At just 17 years old, while living in Indulkana, Kelly won her first art prize at Araluen Arts Centre in Alice Springs for her painting Ngintaka.
