A lifetime of storytelling through art

For more than 35 years, Kelly Taylor has been creating and sharing Aboriginal artwork inspired by culture, family, Country and connection.

Of Yankunytjatjara/Pitjantjatjara and Kokatha heritage, Kelly was raised by her grandmother, Millie Taylor (née Lennon), who played a significant role in shaping both her life and artistic journey. From a young age, Millie taught Kelly stories, culture, connection to Country and the importance of sharing knowledge through art.

Journey

Three decades of practice

Age 17

First Art Prize · Araluen Arts Centre

While living in Indulkana, Kelly wins her first art prize at the Araluen Arts Centre in Alice Springs for her painting Ngintaka — marking the beginning of a lifelong artistic journey.

1990s–2000s

International Collectors

Kelly's work begins entering private collections across Australia and internationally — Japan, the United States, Germany, Italy and New Zealand.

2020

RFDS Flight Journey Line

With her daughter T'keyah Ware, Kelly creates Flight Journey Line for the Royal Flying Doctor Service SA/NT — displayed across RFDS facilities and reproduced on uniforms worn by RFDS staff.

Kelly leads KTAFA, a family-led Aboriginal art business representing three generations. Together with her daughters, she continues a legacy that began with her grandmother Millie Taylor.
