Family Day Out is an original Aboriginal painting inspired by the joy of spending time together on Country with family.
Growing up, some of my favourite memories were travelling across Country with my grandmother, aunties, uncles, brothers and cousins. We would spend the day gathering bush foods, visiting Rockhole's and waterholes, walking through the bush and enjoying each other's company before gathering around the campfire as the sun went down.
The circular forms throughout the artwork represent families gathering together, while the U-shaped symbols represent people sitting together sharing stories, laughter and knowledge. The flowing pathways symbolise the journeys taken across Country and the strong connections between family, culture and land.
Painted in my contemporary Aboriginal style using professional premium acrylic paints, Family Day Out celebrates togetherness, belonging and the memories created through time spent on Country.
The artwork is hand signed by the artist and is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
