OUR STORY

Three Generations, One Story

KT Aboriginal Fine Art, known as KTAFA, is a South Australian Aboriginal family art collective led by artist Kelly Taylor and her daughters, T’keyah, Kelilah and Taliyah.

KTAFA was created to share original Aboriginal paintings, fine art prints and cultural storytelling with collectors across Australia and overseas. Every artwork begins with family, Country and the stories passed down through generations.

Kelly Taylor was born in Port Augusta and raised out bush on Country across Alice Springs, the APY Lands, Indulkana, Watjapila, Coober Pedy and Ceduna. Her connection to painting began when she was just 11 years old in Alice Springs, sitting at the kitchen table with her Nana Millie Taylor Lennon-Terone. It was there that Kelly painted some of her earliest stories, including Lightning Dreaming and Family Gathering.

Those early lessons shaped the heart of KTAFA today. Thirty years on, Kelly and her youngest daughter, T’keyah Ware, formalised the family practice, naming it from their own initials, K and T, and adding Aboriginal Fine Art to honour the deeper purpose: culture, Country and identity expressed through painting.

Today, KTAFA is a family studio where Kelly paints alongside her daughters. Their work has been commissioned by the Royal Flying Doctor Service, featured in Vogue Living, selected for the Disney x Bluethumb collaboration, and collected by private and corporate collectors across Australia and internationally.
