The collaboration

Aboriginal art, made for the beach

The Somerside collaboration began with T'keyah Ware's most popular painting, Camping Under the Moonlight, and transformed it into beach towels and cooler bags carried to coastlines across Australia. Each chapter of the collaboration reflects the connection between cultural storytelling and the everyday Australian beach lifestyle.

Camping Under the Moonlight — A Collaboration with Somerside

T'keyah Ware collaborated with Somerside to bring her most popular artwork, Camping Under the Moonlight, to life on beach towels and cooler bags — authentic Aboriginal art designed for the Australian beach lifestyle.

T'keyah belongs to the Antikirinya/Wirangu peoples. She was born in Port Augusta in 2002 and grew up in Ceduna on the west coast of South Australia. After learning how to dot paint from her mother Kelly Taylor at age fifteen, T'keyah developed a painting practice inspired by her elders.

Camping Under the Moonlight represents families sitting together around the campfire eating bush foods and sharing stories under the night sky, falling asleep under the beautiful moonlight.

The collaboration brought T'keyah's vibrant Aboriginal artwork to Somerside's range of beach towels and cooler bags, available at somerside.com.au — bringing cultural storytelling into everyday Australian beach life.

Somerside is an Australian beach gear brand built on sustainability, with every product made from recycled plastic bottles or sustainably sourced materials. The collaboration paired T'keyah's contemporary Aboriginal art with Somerside's commitment to products made to last, not to landfill.

For T'keyah, the collaboration was a dream realised — sharing her art, culture and stories with the world through a brand that celebrates the Australian beach lifestyle and cares for the environment.

The Somerside collaboration reflects KTAFA's commitment to sharing Aboriginal artwork in accessible ways, bringing cultural storytelling into everyday life through products people use and enjoy.

T'keyah's artwork on the beach towels and cooler bags carries the stories of family, Country and the traditions passed down through generations — meeting circles, campfires, and the moonlight under which families gather.

This collaboration is part of KTAFA's growing work with Australian brands, creating authentic Aboriginal artwork that carries cultural storytelling into new contexts and reaches new audiences across the country.
