A journey across Country, wrapped in story

The Northline commission began as a 40th anniversary artwork and became a travelling canvas for cultural storytelling — a shipping container wrapped in the colours and symbols of Country, carrying Northline's history across the same remote communities the company has served since 1983.

40th Anniversary — A Commission for Northline

Kelly Taylor and T'keyah Ware were commissioned by Northline to create a traditional Aboriginal painting for the global logistics company's 40th anniversary celebrations in Adelaide.

The artwork was reproduced and vinyl-wrapped onto a shipping container, unveiled before more than 250 guests at Victoria Park Social Club as the highlight of an outback-themed soiree — a tribute to Northline's beginnings servicing remote communities in northern Australia.

The painting depicts Northline's historical journey, from its founding in 1983 connecting customers in the Northern Territory to the rest of Australia, through to the industry-leading network with international reach it operates today.

The artwork is a true representation of where we started and highlights the connection and strong roots we have servicing the remote communities in northern Australia.

Unveiled in Adelaide

The unveiling of the commissioned artwork on the side of a shipping container was the highlight of Northline's 40th anniversary celebrations, held in Adelaide with customers, suppliers and employees gathered together.

The event was themed as an outback soiree — a tribute to Northline's beginnings, when the company was founded in 1983 to provide specialised freight services to customers in the Northern Territory.

The traditional Aboriginal painting by Kelly Taylor and T'keyah Ware was reproduced at scale and vinyl-wrapped onto the container, transforming a symbol of global logistics into a canvas for cultural storytelling.
