Blue Rain represents families gathered around their campsites, watching the big blue rain and enjoying the beautiful rainy days and nights out bush.

Kelly says:

“Blue Rain is one of my first paintings, created when I was just 11 years old. It carries a memory of sitting beside my nana, Millie, while we camped overnight in Amata. That night, she shared the Lightning Dreaming with me.

Nana explained that the lightning was the spirits of our ancestors watching over us, letting us know when it was safe to travel and when to stay at camp until the wild weather passed. Her teaching helped me understand the connection between Country, the weather and our ancestors.

For me, this painting holds the power of the storms, the renewal that rain brings to Country, and the comfort of being together. Blue Rain will always hold the memory of my nana and the knowledge she shared with me.”

Line dry in the sun, spreading the comforter evenly over the line and turning occasionally so both sides dry.

Alternatively, tumble dry separately in a large-capacity commercial dryer on LOW HEAT ONLY. Allow plenty of room for the comforter to move freely.

Pause the dryer periodically to gently shake and fluff the comforter, helping redistribute the filling.

Check the centre, corners and thicker sections for dampness. Ensure the comforter is completely dry and cool before use or storage.
